Kate Middleton news: Earrings with ‘unknown origin’ from Queen
It is a huge honour to share earrings with the Queen, one that is not shared often. The only other royal woman to have done so is Sophie, Countess of Wessex, said to be the Queen’s favourite.
“These are a fantastic everyday accessory, that compliment Kate’s subtle style; they add a little something to the ear without detracting one’s attention from something more important, such as a designer piece of clothing, an special brooch or a significant event.
“Being of slightly off round, drop shape-these could be either freshwater pearls or natural saltwater pearls topped with an estimated 0.75cts diamond single stone on each earring. Unfortunately, the origin of this pair of studs is unknown.”
Some have suggested they were passed onto her by her mother Queen Mary on her wedding day, although this is not confirmed.
How much would these earrings be worth, according to the expert?
Kate also wore her hair in a different style of the event, in a chic chignon look.
A hair stylist suggested the new look was a bid to differentiate herself from Meghan Markle.
Frédéric Fekkai, celebrity stylist whose clients include Demi Moore, Hilary Clinton, Scarlett Johansson and Renee Zellweger, gave his professional opinion to Express.co.uk.
Frédéric told Express.co.uk exclusively: “For this historic day celebration, we see Kate Middleton move away from her usual signature bouncy blowdry with a spin on the classic French twist.
“I believe Kate wants to portray herself more royal and classic and to contrast from Meghan.”
